Founders Still Silent On Merger

Lookout, Carly!(Palo Alto, CA) A new study of HP employees sponsored by board member Walter Hewlett shows that employees have mixed reaction on the proposed acquisition of rival Compaq Computer Corporation. Thirty-two percent of employees have heard of Compaq whereas only 24% wish they had gone to the Agilent spinoff. Additionally, 18% believe that HP CEO Carly "your doorman" Fiorina is less of a babe than she was three years ago.

Walter Hewlett, son of HP Founder Dave Packard, has come under attack from HP management for being too rich and nosy. "We never expected Walter to really pay attention to this deal," said an anonymous source on the board. "We thought we could get this whole thing completed when Walter stepped out to the loo".
